lyrics
I wake up, my mind is black as night
I might as well just give up this fight
I have been holding on for far too long
Maybe this will be my final song
The centuries have passed, I’ve seen it all
This life is not what I have dreamed about, no
One more day, one more night
I won’t stay, it’s not right
Wherever I go, the past is watching me
Whenever I die, I’ll finally be free
I’ve tried everything to silence them
The voices in my head cannot be tamed
The centuries have passed, I’ve seen it all
This life is not what I have dreamed about, no
One more day, one more night
I can’t stay, it’s not right
Wherever I go, the past is watching me
Whenever I die, I’ll finally be free
The Devil:
You suffered long enough and came really far
But there’s one last ordeal to go through
Justice awaits after you stood the test of time
I’m no monster, but if you fail, your love is mine
So let me tell you, what you have to do
Don’t need to sell your soul, don’t you worry, dear
Gather an army, the world has never seen before
And lead them into battle, between heaven & hell
So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse
